Creating custom OS X installation DVD from NetBoot

I discovered something rather clever about Netboot today.

You can turn a NetBoot image for Mac OS X into a standalone DVD installer!

This means that we can create a perfectly crafted OS X machine for a customer and then image it as a Netboot image and burn that NBI to a DVD as an installer package. If we supply that DVD to the customer they can - if necessary - boot from that DVD and the Mac will be in the same state is was when we shipped it with all the apps installed etc. I have been in the habit of providing a custom image to customers on DVD but I did not know it was so trivial to make a bootable one.
